IAEA Expert Mission to Sri Lanka to review the draft Safety Regulations of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council
Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council (Council) has received one week expert mission under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) TC Project SRL 09/089 to review the draft regulations on “Radiation Protection and Safety of Radiation Sources”.
Dr. Mamdouh Yassin Osman, Director of Planning, Policy and Technical Cooperation Directorate of Sudan Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority has attended this expert mission. During the mission period of 20th – 24th January 2020, Dr. Osman had several discussions with senior officials of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council to review the draft regulations prepared by the Council and finalized the review of the draft in complying with the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Act No. 40 of 2014 and IAEA safety requirements.
