Director General

Mr. H.L.Anil Ranjith, was appointed as the first Director General of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council  on  3rd  November, 2015.

He has obtained his first degree in BSc (Physical Science) with an honour in 1985 from the University of Colombo and an MSc degree in Nuclear Science in 1996 from the University of Colombo.

Mr. Ranjith has joined the Atomic Energy Authority of Sri Lanka (AEA) (predecessor of the Regulatory Council) as a Scientific Officer on 1st of June, 1987 and had worked there until he was opted to become a staff member of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy regulatory Council On 1stJanuary, 2015. He had been working at the AEA as the Director (Radiation Protection and Regulations) till he was opted to become a member of the Council.

Mr. Ranjith is a visiting lecturer for postgraduate institute of medicine of University of Colombo, postgraduate institute of science of University of Peradeniya

Present Chairman

The present Chairman is Mr. Saminda Jayasekara who assumed duties as the Chairman on January, 2019. Mr. Saminda Jayasekara is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the Corporate Administration including Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources Management and Logistics. Skilled in Negotiation, Business Planning, HR Consulting, Coaching, and Team Building.Mr. Saminda is an Attorney-At-Law with a LL.B. from University of Colombo and a Member of Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport -UK.
